CPU Meter

I love gadgets. My newly built development workstation has dual CPU’s. What could be better than blinky lights for each CPU? 
The schematic is long gone for this dual LED CPU meter that I built years ago but it is pretty simple. A couple of 74*373’s are driven via the printer port data bits and switched with a 74*155. I built a really simple daemon (for Linux) that puts CPU usage for 2 CPUs on the LED strips.
I would like to make a better version using an Atmel AVR microcontroller someday.
