First laser cut

Monday, April 13th, 2015

The software that comes with the laser is mostly in Chinese and limited in functionality but was pretty easy to get started with. I made a round tuit with no alignment or tweaks to the unit and it turned out pretty decent.

I also made a rolling table to hold the laser and cooling water reservoir (5 gallon bucket).

New laser cutter

Tuesday, April 7th, 2015

I bought a cheap Chinese 40W 2030 (20cm x 30cm cutting area) laser engraver/cutter and unpacked it today. There is a lot to be done to make it safe and usable and I can’t wait to start making things with it.
